I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been practicing psychotherapy for over 20 years. My specializations include:

I understand that therapy is hard to initiate. It feels unnatural to talk to a stranger, it may feel like you should be able to handle things on your own. It can feel like a risk, or a waste of time. These are all reasonable and fair concerns, but talking things through with someone objective does actually help, sometimes a little, sometimes a tremendous amount. 
 

The world we live in now lacks the support, time, and sense of community that used to be available in previous eras. There were opportunities for connection that don't exist now. Humans are designed to benefit from supportive conversation with other people. The act of speaking our thoughts, feelings, and struggles leads to clarity and stops the mental chatter that chronically disturbs so many.

Our current culture is full of chaos, confusion, overstimulation and loneliness which results in most of us feeling a constant low hum of unease, no matter what is happening in the external world. It's difficult to identify what that unease is about and even harder to heal it on your own.

My approach looks at you as a whole person. I will help you initiate changes in negative thinking patterns and make sense of emotional distress. It is also essential to explore physical and spiritual aspects of health. In this way, please view our work together as overall healthcare, fine-tuning, to free you from burdens that are keeping you from living your best life.
